pavu-services the Swift the Bank Urban-GNou-Charter Not so long ago pavu.com would propose a work for the sfmoma/webby awards internet art contest, the "Elliott i-Booster moma and popa oedypus rex model". You can access the former yet desactivated version of it HERE.

A word from pavu.com executives :
This tactical communication pad (this is how we call our i-Boosters) was created to send information to the provided email for the contest entries (and thus to ask information) and on the palais-tokyo mailing-list. All is explained on the page itself.
Since it was launched, the moma and popa has been used less than a dozen times which anyone can consider as few.
Yet this was too much and ended in a complaint to our ISP which warned us that without explanations of our part within the upcoming 24 hours our service would be terminated. At the same time, one member of pavu would exchange mails with a sfmoma/webby awards jury member who had himself used this i-Booster.
Although this finally ended with the removal of the abuse complaint, we estimated this complaint was exaggerated and resulted in censorship. From a so-called art institution, this deserved to be known.
The site hasn't been nominated for anything - which has strictly no importance - but this raised the question of what is expected to be art in the internet context : assigning art to an either conceptual or decorative territory results only in deliberately ignoring its critical nature.
In response , we set up this poll where anyone could support her/his challenger and vote either for MOMA or POPA.
Who cares for MOMA and POPA in the end ? It's up to you to decide.
names have been removed to respect privacy.

Please remove *****/webby awards from your pavu installation or i will be forced to
disqualify it from the competition. You are *lobbying* judges, which is n't
warranted, and contributes to many difficulties for me as the recipient.
Please address this email immediately.

i was away so just read my posts today. On request i removed the *****/webby awards email from the oedypus rex moma and popa i-booster. As to the info request, i removed the subject line which you understand as "lobbying stuff" or "abuse".
Promoting the event as we did hasn't been close to any lobbying attempt or desire from our behalf, believe me if you understood it this way - which i personaly doubt.
Please admit this disnatures the work.
Pavu.com's i-boosters are transparent communication pads and publicly available : users are therefore responsible.
On the other hand , you don't ignore the user value behind every internet application. In this case, it's not a commercial software of some sort, not a blinking fashionable flash or shockwave stuff nor a low hack application of some sort.
Pavu.com's tools are deliberately low tech and user oriented even if critical.
we know this kind of work and attitude cannot be rewarded in such a context and so do you.
We keep on swifting.
best regards

*lobbying* referred to sending unwanted email to *****/webby awards. Users may be
responsible for email, but providing a button that allows people to send
email to a user they do not know nor have a need to contact is really
unkind. This is a very busy time for me and receiving unwanted emails is
very frustrating. I did ask you to remove this over a week ago with no
response, so I was forced to escalate. I apologize if this offended you.
I do very much admire what you are doing- but just can't deal with being
the recipient. In the future you should *ask* before placing an automated
mailto.

thanks for the precision about "lobbying". I acknowledge this can be
understood as "unkind" even if there was no intnet of that kind.
I know you asked me previously to remove the address but was working on the
"net affects" website for the exhibition of the same name to be held in
amsterdam early may with reknowned international artists.
I understand well your position but i have to solve right now abuse
complaint for this i-booster which endangers our hosting at *****.com
later.
